Globalgroup receive UKAS accreditation to ISO 45001

Really excited to announce that GlobalGroup are now accredited (UKAS) for ISO 45001, the new internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety.

The team have worked really hard to migrate our management system from OHSAS 18001 to the new associated requirements for ISO 45001.

We will now be contacting our certified clients to begin upgrading their certification.

Looking forward to also quoting and serving new clients to certify them to the brand new ISO 45001.

Great feedback about our GDPR Seminar in Birmingham

Great to meet such a passionate group of delegates today at the GDPR Seminar in Birmingham.  It was great to receive such positive feedback at the end and even a round of applause.  We discussed lots of scenarios relating to the different business sectors in the room, for example: use of cloud-based systems, use of social media, internal training, procedures, etc.  I am really looking forward to delivering the forthcoming seminars in May, including Milton Keynes, Sheffield, York and Manchester.  Oh, and another in Birmingham.  To book a place visit our website: https://global-verification.co.uk/training-2/gdpr-seminar/

GDPR Seminars

Just making final preparations for a GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) seminar to a range of Yorkshire-based companies.  For some companies, the changes may be slight, but significant for others.  What is for sure; if your company is handling personal data and information, then the new GDPR applies!

Please visit global-verification.co.uk/gdpr-seminar to read more about our GDPR seminars and how to register a place.

What is GPDR?

Coming into effect on 25 May 2018, GDPR will introduce a number of new data protection obligations for organisations and new rights for individuals. It is essential your company gets to grips with the changes and starts preparing now.

You’ll walk away from our workshop with a clear practical understanding of what you need to do to prepare your business and staff for GDPR.

ISO 45001 Training

Looking forward to delivering another ISO 45001 training course tomorrow (in Birmingham) based on its requirements and comparisons with OHSAS 18001.  The training course will guide delegates through the requirements of the new ISO 45001:2018 standard and the associated guidance standards.

For those organisations looking to migrate from OHSAS 18001 or those looking to seek initial certification, please also bear in mind the following guidance standards which are associated with ISO 45001:2018:
– 45002-0 General guidance

A new era for Occupational Health and Safety: ISO 45001:2018 is published

The new international standard for occupational health and safety is set to increase global consistency to make workplaces safer and healthier for all.

ISO 45001:2018, Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use, has been published today and is designed for organisations of all sizes, sectors and locations. It aims to reduce the 2.78 million work-related deaths and 374 million non-fatal work-related injuries and illnesses each year estimated by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

ISO 45001:2018 replaces OHSAS 18001; certified organisations will have three years to migrate to the new standard. The new standard introduces a framework that can be used throughout the supply chain to create a health and safety culture that will continually improve OH&S performance. ISO 45001:2018 is based on Annex SL – the same High Level Structure as ISO 9001:2015 (quality management systems) and ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management systems), which will make it easier for organisations using these standards to implement and integrate ISO 45001:2018 into a broader business management system.

With all the major ISO standards being revised, GVL are at the forefront of communicating the changes. We offer a range of ISO 45001 services to support organisations worldwide as they adopt the new standard.

Preparing for ISO 45001 (and migrating from OHSAS 18001)

A great starting point for those responsible or involved with the migration to ISO 45001 is the Preparing for ISO 45001 training course. This one day course will help you understand the potential implications of the new high-level ‘Annex SL’ structure on your OH&S management system and organisation, providing you with an understanding of the extent and nature of the changes introduced by ISO 45001.

New occupational health and safety standard: ISO 45001:2018 approved

The new occupational health and safety (OH&S) standard, ISO 45001, has been approved following an overwhelming final vote of 93% by the ISO member National Standard Bodies (NSBs).  According to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Director – Jose Alcorta – publication is anticipated in March 2018.

ISO 45001 is based on the same High Level Structure as the quality and environmental management system standards, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which will make the structure and common features familiar to organisations using those standards. ISO 45001 will replace OHSAS 18001, which has been widely adopted alongside a number of other national standards.

The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has developed the migration requirements to help certified organisations, certification bodies, accreditation bodies and other interested parties to migrate to ISO 45001. There will be a three-year migration period from the date of publication of ISO 45001:2018.
